Boldness & Utterance

Text: Ephesians 6:18-19
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel."

As ambassadors of Christ, it is of utmost importance that we possess boldness and Utterance as we get to tell more people about our Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us. Our opening text shows us how to attain boldness and Utterance when preaching the gospel; through prayers. This cannot be overemphasized in the body of Christ.

Jesus speaking in Mark 13:9-11 told us that in the last days we would be delivered to council’s and brought before Kings and rulers for a testimony. At this point what will enable you to preach the gospel is boldness and Utterance.

There is a boldness that comes from the spirit of God that conquers fear and doubt. It is on this level of boldness that the Spirit of God rides on to produce signs and wonders. Scripture shows us in Acts 14:3 Long time, therefore, abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands. To engage the supernatural, you need boldness activated in you and the supernatural is what our world needs now.

This boldness and utterance go beyond your academic qualifications, it outsmarts your intelligence. The Bible makes us know this in Acts 4:13 which says Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. The apostles had no educational background but they were able to astound the Pharisees and Sadducees which were men of great academic prowess. This they could do because they had been with Jesus. Hallelujah. Spend time with Jesus in prayers and watch your life display His Glory.
