A Sweet-Smelling Savour:(Part IV)

Text: 2 Corinthians 2:15
"For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish"

For many Christians, the fragrance of their lives draws the attention of God towards them. In Acts 10, the bible tells us about a man called Cornelius. Through alms giving and prayers, there was a memorial before God on his account. Cornelius was on the earth and was not even a Christian to begin with, he was a centurion, but he went in the way of the Lord even though he really did not know the Lord and on a certain day God had to demand his salvation.

Cornelius not having the gift of the Holy Ghost and not even being saved operated in the gift of word of knowledge because an angel came to him directly and gave him precise instructions on how to locate Peter at that time. No one else is that precise except the Lord. Cornelius did not have the Holy Ghost to operate in that gifting but there was something God perceived of his life, and you can see God’s reaction towards him.

How God perceives you determines how He responds to you. When you as a child of God understands this, it will give you a mentality that wherever you go, every day of your life, you will become conscious of every minute of your life because you will be more desirous to ensure that the fragrance of every action you take in life comes to God as a sweet savour.
