A Sweet Smelling Savour:(Part III)
We have come to understand that God wants to perceive our lives and the only way He can do that is when we offer ourselves as living sacrifices. We can no longer offer blood sacrifices like in the days of old because Jesus has already come, and He gave up Himself as the ultimate once and for all sacrifice. For every one of us that stands by faith in the finished works of Christ, there is something that God requires of us before He can recognize or perceive us.
Recall in the book of Genesis 18:20-21, the bible said, And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. This was the Lord coming to the earth to observe the people of Sodom and Gomorrah because of the gravity of the things He had perceived of them. Couldn’t He have observed from heaven and not bother coming to the earth? He could have, He has the power to do that but there was a reason for His coming.
There is a way God perceives the earth and the people that dwell therein. If a child of God understands the perception that God has of him, he would know how God requires him to please Him. All that matters to God in your life every day you live is the fragrance that comes out of your life. Is your life a sweet savour to Him? Every day you live, what does God perceive from your life?
