Accessing The Courts Of Heaven:DEVOTION

Text: Job 2:1
"Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD."

We have been learning about how to contend with prophecies and as we conclude, we need to understand how God’s people can access the courts of heaven and contend for every word spoken over their lives. We learned yesterday that there are 2 things that can prevent the God child from fulfilling God’s word which are weights and sin, and that the enemy leverages on these to accuse the God child in the courts of heaven.

To contend, you must access the courts of heaven and we do this by one means, which is DEVOTION, an intimate relationship with the Lord through His spirit and His word. In devotion, spiritual weights fall, and files are opened and closed. Just as there is an accuser, we have an advocate, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 John 2:1 tells us My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. Hallelujah! We are not without help. We have an advocate with the Father who intercedes for us.

The first thing the Lord deals with when you come to Him in the place of devotion are weights. In devotion, your advocate begins to point out your wrongs before you present your case at the courts of heaven. As you commune with the Lord, He begins to prompt your spirit to several angles of your life that are not pleasing to Him and as you repent from them and make restitution where necessary, those files are erased and closed. As we abide in Him and Him in us, He purges us from every dead work and cleanse us from all unrighteousness so we can present our case without condemnation.
