Being Reponsible As A Leader:(Part IV)

In today’s diet, we would delve deeper into the third pattern (which is, ‘In Love’). Here, Paul speaking to Timothy was addressing his love culture which also relates to you as a Godchild. I would love us to see this love culture in three dimensions.

The first aspect of this love culture is our love for the Lord. As a leader of class, choose to be a pattern in your love for God. Let men see you serve God more fervently, more so as a youth, resonating Ecclesiastes 12:1a, which says “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth…”

Secondly, as Paul encouraged Timothy, God desires brotherly love. A lot of Christians have human love (that is, they love people because they like them) and that is wrong. When a believer loves with human love, he has a love that profits nothing (1 Cor 13:3). As a God-child, you ought to love people as God’s Word declares in 1 John 4:7, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.”

Lastly, Paul also admonished Timothy to be an example to the believer in love as it pertains his love-life. Amazingly, we live in a world where the standards have been dropped low, it is so normal now that the standards that are low have become the norm of the day.

You see young boys and girls and even older folks easily exchanging their faith for pitiful pleasure, which was designed to be enjoyed in the covenant of marriage. You must note this, the reason it is sin (fornication) is simply because it is not done under God’s plan and idea for it, which is in marriage. Determine to be an example for new godly patterns to be seen in the world today.
