Faithful Steward

Text: 1Corinthians 4:2
"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” "

We learnt in our previous study that there is a place of stewardship in our calling in Christ Jesus. And from our bible text today, we are taught that faithfulness is required in stewardship. God demands our faithfulness and it must be of our utmost exertion to achieve same.

There are different areas of our lives that God requires that we stay faithful. The first area of faithfulness in stewardship is our body. Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:20 “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. It is important for us to recognize that our bodies aren’t ours even though we possess it physically.

You must be mindful of the things you do with your body which is the Lord’s. What acts do you perform with the Lord’s body? Where do you take the Lord’s body? What definition do people make of you? These questions and more are fundamental checks to ascertain our faithfulness as pertaining our body.

The AMP rendering of 1 Corinthians 6:20 brings the subject to an even more relatable context. “You were brought with a price [purchased with preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body”.

The Word of God is powerful. Did you see that? We are purchased with preciousness and God requires that we honor Him which in return brings glory to God in us. As we faithfully keep our bodies, God is honored, and we are glorified in Him. Be faithful with your body.
