Light Bearers:(The Foundation)

We have been learning about being light, and shining as light in our current dispensation. We learnt yesterday that we as witnesses, we must have experienced a thing before we can be effective witnesses of it. One of the ways we experience Christ is when we find ourselves exhibiting His love. Remember scripture tells us, God is Love (1 John 4:8).

For us to abide in the light, we have to exhibit love. The result of us being the light is a life of love. To be effective light bearers, we must be effective lovers; Not in the interpretation of the world, but in the interpretation of the Word.

The Foundation of effective souls winning is love. Love powers everything that a soul winner is going to do. John 13:35 tells us “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

1 John 4:16 also tells us, “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” When we begin to love one another effectively, the Holy Spirit uses our vessel to communicate God to others in ways that we cannot even say.

Sometimes, the simplest and kind acts to others from a place of love communicates God, and that just might be the entrance with which they can get saved. Remember, the premise on which even Jesus died is love. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

There are three dimensions of love by which we ought to bear God’s light to the world. This we would look at in the days to come.
