Like Father! Like Son!(II)

Text: John 1:14
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

It is expected in our world for a child to look like either or both of his parents. By reason of genetics, a child’s paternity can be determined because every child MUST carry the DNA of his/her father. In the same vein, if we claim to be the sons of God, then we must look like our Father, God. Jesus is the word made flesh and the bible equally tells us in 1 Peter 1:23 that we are born of that same incorruptible word which is ever living and abides forever. The word of God has in itself the ability to come alive in a man that has given himself so much to the word.

Scripture reads in 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD. The more we look into the mirror of God which is the word of God, we are transformed into the very image we see which is not us but who God has made us to be. We learned yesterday that the disciples of Jesus by reason of their appearance, boldness and acts were identified to have been with Jesus. You cannot look like Jesus when you do not fellowship with Him.

As you step out each day to go about your daily activities, always bear in mind that anyone that meets with you is an opportunity for such a one to meet with Jesus and be changed. Let the world see and experience Jesus through you. Be like your father, you carry the DNA of God.
