Purposeful Building: (Part III)

Text: 1 Corinthians 3:10-11.
"According to the grace of God, which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. "

We saw yesterday that the focus of the Apostle Paul in our opening scripture was not the foundation itself but what we build on the foundation because you see, the foundation can be none other than Jesus Christ, He is our chief cornerstone and the foundation of everything we do for kingdom. Every man that comes into Christ must be particular about what he builds on Jesus, his foundation. Today, we want to take a closer look at what can be built on Jesus.

The 12th and 13th verses of 1 Corinthians 3 says Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. Recall that the words in verse 12 are like the ones used to describe vessels in God’s house in 2 Timothy 2:20. It tells us that whatever is been built is done by vessels which are men.

Amazingly, it tells us that every man’s work will be made manifest being declared by the day. What day is this? Remember, God calls the Light Day, which is Jesus, and, in His light, we see light. Your purpose in Jesus is what will declare your works. Seeing Jesus, the light is not enough, we need to see the reason why we saw Him. It begins by seeing the light which is Jesus, but it doesn’t end there. The light must also be seen in us. As you have found the light, the light must be found in you.
