You Are Righteous

The subject of righteousness is a topical issue with various misconceptions in Christendom. One of the various misconceptions is “ No man can be righteous except Jesus”. This is a hell-inspired ideology. Take a look at the proceeding verses of our opening text; Romans 5: 18 – 19 “ Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous” You see, through the righteousness of Jesus, we have received the gift of righteousness. Righteousness is a gift. Gifts are no-gifts if they were to be paid for by the receiver. We did not and could not have earned righteousness by our works. The righteousness of a man is as a filthy rag the bible tells. 

Righteousness is not acting right but standing right with God. God has declared you righteous, not by our works but by the faith in Christ Jesus. Having received the gift of righteousness by faith, you should flaunt the gift to the world. Flaunting the gift of righteousness is declaring boldly your stand in Christ Jesus. The righteousness of faith requires that you talk the word of God. Scripture tells us that the righteousness which is of faith always speaks(Romans 10:6). You should speak it loudly, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus”. Know who God has made you.
