Quavah: Part II
God said in Jeremiah 29:13 “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” (NKJV). In other words, they that seek after God will be custodians of God. God is not hidden but He’s not in plain sight. You have to seek Him to find Him. He is everywhere but you cannot just see Him because He only reveals Himself to the heart that seeks after Him.
Our opening text says, they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength. The word renew in our human language means to replenish, to restore. But to God that’s not what the word renew actually means. When the Bible talks about renewing one’s strength, it talks about a total exchange where they that wait on the Lord exchange their strength and receive a new strength (ability) from God.
The Bible says in Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” In the definitions of God, our transformation by the renewing of our mind doesn’t mean that God wants to replenish our mind, rather it means that God wants to totally change our mindset.
It’s an exchange where God takes out the old and puts an entirely new one. In fact, the word transformed as used in this scripture comes from the Greek word ‘metamorphoō’ which means metamorphosis. It means to be changed to an entirely new thing by the changing of your mind.
