Represent God

Text: James 3:12
" Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh."

We have learned through scriptures that man is not an independent being. What this means is that man did not arrive on earth of his own making and even though man has been given a will, he is still influenced by forces around him. Every man is a vessel which channels either the spirit of God or the spirit of this world. No man can sit on the fence.

As man is not a neutral space but a vessel, we must realize that whenever we do not continually submit and yield to the spirit of God, we automatically come under the influence of the devil. Scripture tells us in Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.

This tells us that the world has got a course of its own in the same way the kingdom of God has the laws of the spirit. When the believer is not consciously and intentionally obedient to the laws of the spirit, he is at risk and would automatically obey the prince of the power of the air which is the devil and walk in disobedience.

As seen in our opening scripture, you cannot yield 2 different fruits. You are either sold out and totally given to the ways of God or inadvertently, given to the devil by you not being fully given to the Lord and the things of the spirit. Tomorrow, we would learn more on how this relates to is especially in this season.
