Rigteousness: Speaking!

Text: Romans 10:6-7
"But the righteousness, which is of faith speaketh on this wise, say not in thine heart, who shall ascend into heaven? (That is, to bring Christ down from above:)Or, who shall descend into the deep? (That is, to bring up Christ again from the dead."

Our opening scripture is one that I love so much. It says that the righteousness which is of faith speaks. Righteousness first speaks and one of the scriptures we saw in previous diets in Isaiah 45:19 showed us that God speaks righteousness. Righteousness is not first a living but a speaking and speaks in a certain wisdom. Look at the things that the righteousness which is of faith does not say. In literal terms, it is saying how that you should not speak those things that communicate impossibility in the Christian faith.

The bible shows us what righteousness says. Romans 10:8-9 reads but what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Hallelujah! The righteousness of faith speaks in the wisdom of God, it speaks in right standing with God. It finds out what God’s thoughts are regarding every aspect of life and says it. The righteousness which is of faith speaks the things that are consistent with God.

In the kingdom of God, your position matters. The journey to ultimately living right begins first with standing right. Your position in the kingdom is acknowledged first by your speaking. Romans 10:8 says that the word of God that is closest to you begins from that which is in your mouth. Little wonder it says in Joshua 1:8 that the word should not depart out of your mouth. The righteousness which is of faith must begin with the right words and not just speaking things that appear to be right but speaking those things that are consistent with the Word of God.
