The Battle of Immorality

Text: 2 Corinthians 2:11 AMPC
"To keep Satan from getting the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his wiles and intentions.” "

Iniquity is a system of hell to lure man into disobedience and this is what the scripture describes as ‘Devices’ or ‘wiles and intentions” in our opening text.

Many that lived as close as 50 years ago did not face as much trouble as our generation has with things such as pornography, masturbation, same-sex activity, fornication, and other immoral stuff as faced now. I am not just referring to unbelievers, I am also talking about the church (the body of Christ) because, immorality is part of the battles that have come into the house of God. Why? Devices has enabled some things in our time. For example, it’s easy for someone to get close to pornography with a click of the hand because all it takes is for one to just connect to the internet; and no one will know what you’re doing with it.

But there is something more worrisome about this battle of immorality. There is a part that has become more personal than general like Jesus states, “But I say to you that everyone who so much as looks at a woman with evil desire for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” (Mat 25:8 AMPC) So, there are many of God’s children committing the sin of immorality in their heart more than those who carry out the act and they do not know it. Some are inspiring it (through things like dressing) and they do not know it: and in the presence of God, the one that looks and the one that committed the act of fornication both receive the same judgment.

Jesus is coming for a church without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27) therefore, choose not to be overcome by this and other battles as we wait for the coming of the Lord.
