The Believer’s Inheritance

Text: Psalms 2:8
"Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession."

Every believer has to understand that in the realms of the spirit, souls are won when the believer claims them first in the spirit. According to our opening verse, the Lord wants us to ask Him of our inheritance. Inheritance are usually contested for and remember we have an adversary who is a rebel holder of authority. Even though God has given to us the heathen for our inheritance, He still demands that we ask for it in prayers.

As a believer, you have to understand that what ever you don’t ask from the Lord He won’t give you. This is not because God is wicked but He is patiently waiting for you to take the step of asking in accordance with His will for your life. Jesus speaking in Matthew 7:7 said “ask and ye shall receive”. You’ve got to ask and keep on asking to receive your inheritance.

You ask from God correctly when you ask by the leading of the spirit of God in you. There are so many out there who are yet unsaved and it is up to us to demand their salvation that they be turned to the Lord. This is part of the reason God left us here after we gave our lives to the Lord.

We were saved to save others but remember, the inception of the ministry of reconciliation which every believer has been called into is prayer. Pray for the souls of men. They are your inheritance, your joy and crown.
