The Plan II
From our opening text, we understand that the law entered so that the offense might gain roots. In genesis, we see that after Adam ate the fruit, God didn’t say man (Adam) will die, rather God said “man has become like us”. This is because the death God referred to when He gave the law was not an immediate death. The death was a revealing of the last enemy. As believers, we need to understand creation to know that our world and everything happening is in the plan of God.
Remember that after the plan had started, God had to find a legal premise to function on the earth, so He identified a man Abraham, with whom He established a covenant with, and thus He began running by that Covenant. This is why He’s called the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and not the God of Adam. Therefore, Abraham was the first man that became the institution of Heaven for earth, where God began to reveal His agenda legally on the earth.
However, the devil was already working, for before Abraham, Cain already killed his brother, hence sin was already functioning, and the devil was already making pacts with men. One thing you must realize as a believer is that you cannot stumble into a covenant with God but you can stumble into a covenant with the devil and this is because the devil is that tricky. Nonetheless, we see how God by His Divine Wisdom has always outsmarted the devil. For when God Gave Adam the instruction, He knew the devil will use the same instruction to get man, but what he never realized was that God gave him a tool, so that at the end he will bring the plans of God to pass.
