The Power to Get Wealth
From our opening text, we can see the Lord calling the attention of the children of Israel to true concept of wealth, which is first and ultimately keeping their gaze on Him because He is the source of true riches, not our ability or strength. Observe further that this power or ability to get this wealth is founded on covenant.
What is this Power the scripture mentioned? This power is Wisdom. This means that the ability to get true and undefiled wealth comes from the wisdom that the Spirit of God lavishes on the children of God.
For this wisdom to rest on a Godchild, God must be the priority. How can you show a man that he is your priority? You can do this by taking the things that pertain to that man like your own, and not treating it like a side job. This means that before God rests His wisdom on you, you must give in your entirety to His course as seen in Matt. 6:33 where Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Why must the Godchild keep his focus on the Lord and his kingdom in order to make wealth? There are contentions on our loyalty, which translates to worship. Jesus said in Matt. 6:24 “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve god and mammon.” God is simply keeping us reminded by His word that He must be the focus of our attention and worship; by this, the covenant of wealth will be fulfilled and sustained in our lives.
