The Sword Of The Spirit

People fight battles with different weapons but for the believer, the bible says the weapons of our warfare are not carnal because we don’t fight physical battles though they can find expression in the physical realm. Our battles as believers are more spiritual and the weapons God has given us to fight are equally spiritual.

We have spiritual weapons that work in the premises of God. Out of all the weapons, only one is an attacking weapon and that is the sword of the spirit which is the Word of God. The main purpose of the sword is to attack. The Greek word for sword is stoma which means the edge of the tongue. This is not a physical sword that is written in the word of God. God is saying take up the sword of your confession. That is the sword of the spirit. The believer can only attack the battles of life by His confessions.

Your confessions have got to be consistent even if it’s the same words you keep repeating every single day. The bible says in Ecclesiastes 11:6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. You don’t get tired of confessing because you don’t know which will strike hot against the battles of life. You have got to declare those words every single day and remain consistent with it.
