Understanding Strongholds:(V)

Text: 2 Corinthians 10:4
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds."

We learned yesterday that when a believer is still dealing with strongholds in his/her life, it’s like an unending cycle. The believer prays and seems to get some relief but then later on, the same sin or addiction shows up again. Understand that prayers are not wrong, it is needful but what prayer does is that it brings you into the awareness of God’s presence and in the awareness of God’s presence, every function of darkness will be diminished in ability.

It’s just like in science where we are taught that there are certain organisms that thrive in a certain location and when they sense disturbance of any kind, they form cysts or hard shells around themselves and are in an innate form. When they realize that there is no more threat to their existence, then they break out of the shell and continue to wreak havoc.

The issue with most believers is that they are yet to understand that these are strongholds where the enemy hides to wreak havoc and throw his darts. When you identify the stronghold, you are then able to pull it down but when you don’t identify it, you can’t even see it to bring it down.

If pulling them down was not required or a necessity, then God wouldn’t have given us the weapons to bring them down. If He did, then it means that we can pull them down and we have what it takes to pull them down. If you are in this situation, don’t despair, you are not helpless. You have at your disposal an arsenal that is mighty through God and can pull down every stronghold. Be encouraged.
